About the vacancy:

COOMBES is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our small friendly Finance team on a full-time permanent basis.

This essential role provides financial support to teams across the business by ensuring that invoices are processed efficiently and that our clients and contractors are paid correctly and in a timely manner.  Overseeing the Sales and Purchase ledger, the Accounts Assistant will post and process invoices and receipts using our internal systems, set up payments and ensure that our accounts reconcile at the end of the day.

About you:

You’ll have recent experience in a similar bookkeeping role and be keen to take up a fresh challenge.  You’ll be highly numerate with excellent computer skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office and have advanced Excel capabilities.  You’ll be happy in using, updating and reporting from financial software systems, and may even have experience of Sage 200.  

This role will require you to be a self-motivated team member who can work both independently and as part of a team.  You’ll take pride in your work and complete tasks to a high standard.  You’ll be able to organise your time effectively to ensure that internal and external deadlines are always met. You’ll have excellent attention to detail and value the importance of accurate data entry and record keeping. Your approachable manner and clear communication skills will allow you to effectively respond to requests and queries from internal teams, contractors and suppliers alike.
