About the vacancy

As our Assistant Ecologist, you will support our dedicated in-house Environmental team in delivering ecological conservation initiatives across the business.

As our Assistant Ecologist, you will:

·            Undertake ecological surveying and logistics planning at a variety of sites, as required

·            Assist with Preliminary Ecological Assessments(PEAs) and feedback findings

·            Assist with protected species surveys, reports, ecological data collection, analysis, monitoring and reporting

·            Support with the design of protected species and habitat mitigation measures

·            Provide regular updates to colleagues, and the Environment manager relating to works and progress

·            Observe and follow applicable safe methods of working, health, safety and environmental rules and procedures

 

In order to be successful as our Assistant Ecologist, we would ideally like you to have the following skills/experience:

·            A degree in Environment/Ecology-related subject

·            Relevant experience gained through employment or volunteering

·            Awareness of relevant wildlife legislation –currently working towards (or willing to do so) protected species survey licences

·            Experience writing and producing reports

·            Practical application of GIS/mapping processes

 

Due to the nature of this role, there may be a requirement to work away from home. A full driving license is essential.
