We continuously work to reduce emissions to air, land, and water through the use of advanced technologies and best practices in our operations. By investing in modern, energy-efficient, low-emission plant and machinery and incorporating eco-friendly alternatives into the delivery of our work, such as using HVO fuel and biodegradable herbicides, we minimise the release of pollutants and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
In addition to these measures, we also focus on preventing pollution. This involves implementing pollution prevention techniques, such as spill containment and sediment control, which allow us to protect land and water resources effectively. By combining these strategies, we can ensure our commitment to sustainability and reduce our overall environmental footprint.
By embracing circular economy principles, we actively minimise waste and pollution from the outset. This involves providing eco-friendly options, using durable, recyclable materials, and choosing equipment with low environmental impact and extended lifecycles. We repurpose materials on-site to create habitats and work with biofuel suppliers to convert waste into energy.
We are constantly monitoring and improving our waste management practices. Still, where waste production is inevitable, we rely on our specialised waste management supply chain that provides zero-landfill solutions for specific waste streams, such as hazardous, electronic, or construction waste.
Our in-house environmental team, composed of CIEEM-accredited ecologists, are fully embedded into our projects' planning and delivery phases. They collaborate closely with our delivery teams to ensure that our commitments are fulfilled and ensure that environmentally sound best working practices and techniques are used. During the initial planning stage, we meticulously assess and mitigate potential impacts, establish biodiversity baselines, and seek opportunities to enhance habitats and achieve biodiversity gains.
Additionally, we actively seek collaborations with local environmental organisations, trusts, and community groups. This partnership approach enables the exchange of knowledge, resources, and expertise, fostering more effective and far-reaching biodiversity improvement initiatives.
