About the vacancy

As our Forestry Coordinator, you’ll be right at the heart of our Forestry team, helping to keep everything organised, running smoothly and moving forward. You’ll be the person colleagues turn to for support, coordination and information, and you’ll play a big part in ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

In this role, you’ll:

• Provide support to the Forestry team across all aspects of their work.

• Act as a key point of contact for Forestry Operators, answering questions, helping them plan their day and supporting their safe and effective delivery.

• Capture, record and report technical data accurately using spreadsheets, trackers and other digital tools.

• Keep project records organised, complete and easy to access, ensuring everything is stored correctly.

• Plan and coordinate access, road closures, resources and logistics with third parties, helping to keep jobs on track and building positive working relationships along the way.

• Create and maintain clear, efficient standard operating procedures for the role, ensuring consistency and quality.

• Prepare and submit a range of documents and reports for clients.

• Help develop and implement new ways of working to improve processes and efficiency.

• Liaise closely with colleagues and clients to ensure smooth, consistent service delivery.

• Attend meetings, take clear minutes and follow up on actions so nothing gets missed.

• Support the Forestry management team with schedules, diaries, work plans and any general admin needed.

• Manage the machine fault log and help keep information accurate and up to date.

• Maintain timber contract and dispatch records using our bespoke database.

• Order fuel and keep track of prices.

• Build strong working relationships across the business and with external partners.

• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures, reporting any incidents or Close Calls promptly.

• Take part in training, follow company policies and represent COOMBES positively in everything you do.

• Stay flexible and ready to adapt as our growing company evolves.

It’s a bonus (but not essential) if you have experience in the forestry sector, previous technical administration experience, or familiarity with digital mapping systems such as GPS/GIS.
